Are these toolbags made the same as before?
Yes, we use the same triple layers of Dupont cordura, deluxe stitching and the same configurations that have made Diamond Back belts and bags so durable.
However, please be aware that the pouches you bought 5 or 10 years ago may have evolved somewhat since then and minor improvements have been added. If you are concerned about this, please just ask us.
We utilize industry leading SSL encryption technology. Our security certificate has the ability of up to 256 bit encryption, depending on your web browser. Your personal information, as well as your credit card information, is encrypted throughout the entire sales process.
Back to topHow long is the wait before I get my bags? (Updated weekly)
Currently, there is about a 8+ week lead time (updated 2/07/12) on most orders placed today (Plus delivery which generally takes 3 to 5 days assuming good weather).
Please do keep in mind that this estimate is simply an educated guess. We try to be as accurate as we're able but it's difficult to predict exactly when we might get to your set. This lead time estimate, in no way, guarantees you will receive your order by the date provided. We do however, always promise to sew as quickly as we can.
Also, please be aware with phone orders that we may charge your card ANYTIME after the order has been placed.

Lori will be leaving town and as a result production will temporarily be halted. E-mail and phone calls will also be delayed. We promise to return your call or e-mail just as soon as we are able. Thank you for your understanding.
Which belt do I get when I order a set?
Each set has been arranged with a 6" metal OR 6" plastic buckled belt that is the most frequently requested for that arrangement.
You can certainly choose a different belt if you prefer but in order to do this, you must break up the set and order each pouch and belt separately. The belts on the sets are designed " as is" with the exception of upgrading to a metal buckle or 8" belt.

All pouches shown in both our catalog and online are size large.
The tail bag and gun nail tail bag are in size medium.

Also, we cannot accept returns on custom made pouches. If you design it, you bought it. Be sure to clearly explain what it is you are hoping to create. If a customized item is mailed back to us for return or exchange, we will return that item to you at your expense.

Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash. Balance of certificate must be used on merchandise and or shipping. Certificates are not transferable and expire one year from date of purchase. Gift certificates can be redeemed online OR by giving us a call at 1-800-899-BELT.

Back to topAre the hammer sleeve and flat bar sleeve included with any of the pouches?
The hammer sleeve and flat bar sleeve do not come with any of the pouches that are bought separately from sets. However, they can be added to any pouch AND certain sets do include a flat bar sleeve and hammer sleeve. Those sets are: The Denali , The Grizzly, and The Borealis. So in other words and for example, if you purchase just The Elias Pouch it will not come with a hammer sleeve but if you purchase the entire Grizzly set-it will.
Back to topOur credit card processing system does not allow us to see any card numbers entered in to the system. Anytime we need to add additional charges to your card we must first obtain the card number from you via the phone.
We can however process credits without having to obtain the card number.
Back to topCan I call to check the status of my order?
Customers are welcome to call whenever for whatever. However, we prefer that you e-mail us if you're requesting the status of your order. Please be patient as we are a very small, home-based business consisting only of Andus (who also works full time as a carpenter through the week) and Lori. We do our best to respond ASAP but often times find ourselves overwhelmed with e-mails, calls and trying to sew.
If you call, please leave us a message so that we can get back with you just as soon as possible.
I sent you an e-mail so why haven't you responded?
Occasionally we receive e-mails that we are unable to respond to due to incorrect e-mail addresses being typed by the senders. Please be sure to check and double check that you entered your e-mail address correctly. If you enter the wrong address, we unfortunately have no other way of contacting you. If you think this may have happened to you because we never responded, please send us another message with correct contact information.
Each and every one of our customers are important and we want to be able to respond to your questions and comments.
This holds true for orders placed with us as well. You will not receive a confirmation e-mail of your order if you incorrectly enter in your e-mail.
Back to topDoes the Aurora Pouch include an electrician's tape chain?
Yes. Though not pictured, we do attach a t-chain to the Aurora Pouch. Likewise, the Borealis set includes an electrical tape chain attached to the dominant side pouch (which is the Aurora Pouch).
If you prefer to not have this option on your Aurora Pouch, please let us know at the time of ordering.
If you would like to add the electrical tape chain to another pouch, let us know this too and we can add one for an additional fee.
When is the best time to call?
We are generally hard to reach on the phone as Andus takes the calls but also works a 9-5 as a carpenter through the week. If you want to talk to Andus, please be sure to leave a message and he will get back with you as soon as he possibly can. Please be patient as we are often times overwhelmed with inquiries and often find ourselves trying to balance responding to those inquiries with sewing.

If you order a gift certificate from us you will have the option of receiving either a paper certificate (paper copies are subject to an additional shipping fee) or an e-mailed copy. This certificate will have a code which can be redeemed either online or by placing an order with us over the phone.

Back to topWhat is the size difference between the large and the medium pouches?
All of our pouches are available in either medium or large. Both sizes offer the same features (pockets, pouches, etc.) but as you might have guessed-the medium is just a bit smaller. To be exact-the medium is 10.5" wide and 13" long whereas the large is 12" wide and 13.5" long.
Back to topAs we are located in rural Alaska we are only able to ship with the United States Postal Service. We will ship your package via Priority mail (with optional insurance) using Click N Ship which means that if you provide us with a working e-mail address, you will be notified via e-mail that your package is on its way along with tracking information. Please note that if you opt for insurance on orders valued at $201 or more, you will need to sign for your package.
Since we are in rural Alaska, mail delays are possible and actually happen with some frequency. All mail is flown out of Haines down to Juneau-so if the weather is poor-the planes are unable to fly and the mail sits until the weather clears. They do a great job of moving the mail when any window of opportunity presents itself. Usually, mail takes around 3-5 days to reach most places in the lower 49.

We recommend mailing things to Diamond Back USA via USPS first class or priority mail. Parcel post can literally take months to get here and generally only saves you a dollar or two. USPS is the only way to get mail to us in rural Alaska.

Back to topIf there is a problem with my card-what happens then?
If your card is declined, we will attempt to make contact with you for a few days. After this time, if we still have yet to hear from you and are unable to process your card, we will hold on to your set until someone else orders what you ordered. We regret this to be the case but we can only assume that you have decided to cancel your order with us.
Please-if you know your card is not going to approve the purchase of your order-tell us in advance so that we may continue on to the next order.
I've called and left a message-why haven't you called me back?
We apologize for being unavailable to answer the phone at certain times. Andus handles the calls but also works a 9 to 5 job as a carpenter through the week. Please be sure to leave us a message and he will get back with you just as soon as he is able.
Also, we make every attempt to call people back who leave a message asking for us to do so. However, there are some messages left for us on our voice mail that we simply are unable to hear or get the number from. Please remember to speak slowly, loudly and clearly so that we can be sure to get your correct name and number. When calling to request a catalog-please spell out your name, street name and city as we often have a difficult time hearing that as well. We appreciate your understanding.

We're sorry but there is no quicker way to receive your order. Every customer's order is filled in line with when the order was placed.

Back to topMy belt is too small or big so now what?
If you receive your order and find that your belt is too small or large then you can send your belt back to us and we will make you a new size belt. Do not wear your belt to work if you think it does not fit because we will make exchanges on new items only. You need not call us to get a different size belt-simply mail it back via US Priority Mail along with the Velcro pants belt (we will send another larger or smaller Velcro pants belt back) and send a note indicating the new size you would like. Also, you will be responsible for return postage so please let us know if we should charge the card used to make the original purchase. If you ordered online originally, we will need to obtain your card info again as we do not have access to that information.
Please note: If your belt was customized in any way (size, addition of Velcro, etc.), we will not be able to accept it for return or exchange. If a customized item is mailed back to us, we will return that item to you at your expense.

Anytime something is custom made we will be unable to accept it as a return. You design it you bought it. If a customized item is mailed back to us, we will return that item to you at your expense.

We gladly accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover and PayPal.
We will also accept money orders. However, you must order by phone or over e-mail to pay with a money order. Also, please be advised that we WILL NOT fill your order until we have received your money order if this is how you choose to pay.
We DO NOT accept American Express so please do not try to use an American Express card when checking out.
We DO accept debit cards that display the MasterCard or Visa emblem.
Can I add a Hammer or Flat Bar Sleeve to any pouch?
Yes. While most people prefer the hammer sleeve on their dominant hand side and a flat bar sleeve on their non-dominant side, it's up to you on what goes where. You can decide when adding the sleeve to your cart which side you would like for us to attach the sleeve to.
Back to topDo I need to order the suspender loops along with the suspenders?
No. If you are wishing for the full suspender set up, simply order the suspenders and the sewn in loops are included in the $49.99 price.
Shoulder pads however are not included and are an additional $31.99 if you would like to add them to your suspender set up.
Can you make your pouches for left handed people?
Yes, we can make your set either right or left handed including the belt. Please indicate how you would like your bags to be configured while ordering.

We do offer printed catalogs. Please just fill out our "request a brochure" page and we'll send one out for free right away.

Simply put, no. Each pouch varies somewhat on pocket configuration. We recommend taking the 360 tour on our site to see down in to the pockets to find what's best-suited for your needs.

Back to topDo all pouches include the attached nylon loop?
Nearly all. The only pouch that does not include the nylon (hammer) loop is the non-dominant pouch on the Raptor Set which is the Eagle Pouch. All others include the loop.
If you rather we omit this loop, just include this info while ordering and we will happily omit it from your pouch. Be sure to let us know which pouch you want us to omit the loop from.
If you would like to add a loop to the Eagle Pouch, let us know and we can add one for an additional fee.
Also, please note that none of the tail bags, safety glass pouch, sealed pouch, general pouch or holsters include the loop either.
Back to topShould I use my pant size to order a belt?
No!!!! Please do not pick a belt size based solely on the size of your pants. You need to measure around your belly button area as this is where the belt will sit. Our belts fit more like a cummerbund so a belly, or lack there of one, can GREATLY influence the proper fit.

Consider the fact that you are buying a product that is made in the United States of America, which doesn't come cheap. Not only are you paying for a product that is assembled in this great nation but you're also paying for materials made in the United States, which are unfortunately becoming more difficult to even find! You are helping to keep middle income jobs here, close to home, by buying American made products which in the end, benefits us all.
Another consideration, we like to say that our pouches and belts are an investment. Sure you pay more upfront, but our products tend to outlast the cheaper brands you'll find on the market. Just ask around and you'll find our clients still using their set ups 5, 10 even 15 years later which in the end saves you a ton of cash. No more replacing your set up annually.

Back to topWill a Fat Max Hammer fit in to a hammer sleeve?
It has come to our attention that the Fat Max hammer does not fit very well in to our hammer sleeves.
If you carry this type of hammer (or a larger hammer in general), please let us know so that we can make the sleeve larger to accommodate you.
We automatically include your free "Velcro Pants Belt" when we fill your order. You DO NOT need to add one to your cart as this will be considered an additional belt and you will be charged for it.
Please note that the free Velcro Pants Belt is included ONLY with 6" or 8" belt orders or with any set that includes a 6" or 8" belt.
A free spare Plastic Buckle is automatically added to all 6" and 8" plastic buckled belts.

When you order a regular hammer or flat bar sleeve, we sew them directly on to your pouch. The flat bar sleeve can actually be taken on and off if you like. We must have your pouch to be able to sew them on.
If you already own a pouch and don't want to ship it to us, you can opt to order a retro-fitted sleeve. This sleeve includes hardware and instructions for you to attach the sleeve to your pouch yourself.

Right now! We do everything we can to get your customized, one of a kind order out to you as soon as we possibly can. However, Diamond Back only consists of Andus and Lori and we are only able to do so much.
We STRONGLY recommend getting your order in as soon as you possibly can to try and make the holiday season. We do fill full set orders on a first ordered first made basis. It's never too early to think about a holiday gift for that special carpenter in your life.
